Hi - I'm new to this website and looking forward to perusing all the info which looks extensive - I'm a massive Leeds United fan hence my username ! - I live in Leeds and have a 1997 (2.8 - 6 cylinder - wide body) BMW Z3 Roadster in racing green - manufactured in the USA ! - a car now 26 years old and has only done 92000 miles - just run in - lol - I believe now quite rare and I have tried to establish the total number manufactured by contacting BMW direct and also the American factory - to no avail - so if you can help with this then that would be fab !

Just so you know all Z3s were built in South Carolina at the plant at Spartanburg, as were the E85 Z4 . These days they solely build SUV models. Me and Shirl visited the plant and took the tour in the Spring of this year. What you’re calling Racing Green is most likely Oxford Green ( it will be marked on one of the front strut turrets). There are a few members who like to look into remaining numbers of cars etc. so most likely you’ll find that info.
Anyway, welcome on the forum from me near Lincoln.

Tony.

Hi - not the right time of year now but do you go to any meetings or events ? - I would like to explore this next year ! - we are not far apart !
Hi, we try to get to meetups if we can but more often than not life gets in the way & prevents us from having a good time. There are quite a few shows locally that members go to, Sports cars in the park At Newby Hall & The Fathers day meeting at Castle Howard spring to mind. Personally we prefer the smaller local shows. Andyglym usually does a Lakes & Dales run over a weekend a couple of times a year or if you fancy heading further north Stevo does a Scottish run again over a weekend. We did meet up with Ken & Linda Nugent a couple of times this year for an afternoon run into the dales. Started in Bedale headed out to a pub for lunch then head back stopping for ice cream on the way home. Keep an eye on Forthcoming events, you can find this in forums in the blue band at the top of the page. If you fancy meeting up locally we can probably sort something out.

Hi LUFC, echo all of above. Maybe a look at the write up's page to see what goes on. We've had a blast with a great bunch of people on some of these runs and would certainly give your 2.8 a good shake down.

Hi mate. It's "Now" an 2.8 estoril blue 1998. Long story short. It's an category C right off after a rear end shunt. Two brothers who worked at Chesterfield BMW put it back together for their dad some years ago. Featured in BMW magazine over 3 issues. We've had it about 7 years and enjoyed many a mile in it, aka Storm. Cheers.
