Well here we are staying with friends in exmouth with no z3!!!.
We were driving down to Christchurch last thursday for a four night stay.Passing through Winchester glanced at dash, temperature gauge in the red. Got parked up called rac. Diagnosis seized radiator fan, after cooling down drove to Lymington were car remains at time of writing an rac approved garage. It was monday when a replacement fan was delivered to the garage, however that was a viscous fan and this zed is fitted with an electric fan, doh. Only option from bmw germany five day delivery, which could well bleed into next week before car is good to go . [ this zed does not have aircon so no auxilary] I sourced replacement off ebay which is enroute from Lithuania should be here thursday, Fingers crossed.

Welcome from Warwickshire, the pleasure of older car motoring. I bought mine in January this year and completed 2500mile trip in France at the beginning of June. Luckily trouble free. It is often electrics that cause an issue on any older car. I have rallied historics for many years and failed electrics cause the majority of DNF's.
Keep faith as the driving pleasure of the Z3 is definitely worth it.

Very late but welcome to the forum from Shotley Bridge, near Consett. Where in the North-east are you based? There are getting to be quite a few of us from the area on here now.

I understand the first step is to clean the sensors and try running them to see if that clears the problem. I have INPA so we could read the codes and take it from there if that would help. I don't have any practical experience of changing the sensors, but there will be info on here if you decide that is what is needed.

Welcome from Mansfield. Bit of a rough start to owning your new zed. Generally they are incredibly reliable so don't don't disheartened. All part of owning a 20 year old car.

Welcome from Newcastle!

Echo what Grumps said, they're bulletproof once you sort the little niggles that are inevitable with any 20 yr old car
