watching this with interest.
it will be good to see the look on peoples faces hearing the engine and expecting some supercar and a z4 pulls up alongside them.

so, you build Impreza race engines? my daily driver is a hawkeye and i'm looking to take it to the next stage, possibly forged.....we'll have to talk:thumbsup:

Hi McZee3.
For a nice reliable engine it's best to go the forged route. Here's some pics of one of my closed deck 2.5 blocks..
As you'll see there's a lot of specialised machining to do the inserts. The other pics are just a normal build for me.

now you've gone and done it haven't you? :arghh:
you've got me checking my savings account balance without the missus knowing!

to be honest i'm not going for massive power due to it being a daily driver but i would like to get to the 400 mark.
would this need a closed deck or run on standard semi closed?

The closed deck is normally the preferred route as it gives more bore support on the 2.5 blocks. One of the major failings on these engines is head gasket and ring land failure. You can run around 400/400 safely on semi closed but there could be issue's at a later date.
