Hello, I am a newbie who purchased a 2016 Z4 hardtop manual. What a great ride, tight, responsive. I owned a Crossfire for 6 years but Chrysler stopped servicing this vehicle so time to let it go. I'm interested in having the BMW 3rd brake light GS100A Controller that creates 3 rapid flashes, 3 slow flashes and then steady illumination. Only effects the 3rd brake light. Very effective for those tailgaters. Found this through the Crossfire forum. The GS100 is less than $10. Anyone have any experience with this modification? Thanks! Zoom, zoom......Zoom!

Hi David welcome to the forum. There are a lot of E89 owners on the forum so perhaps one of them are best placed to answer your question. Both of my cars are standard except for me fitting dash cams.

Hi David, welcome from me near Lincoln UK. I had a look on eBay and those controllers are less than £2.00 from China.
It could be an issue for UK drivers as it could be an MOT (our annual vehicle inspection) failure. The silly thing is that if the 3rd brake light doesnt illuminate it is only an advisory item (unless this has changed in the last 12 months). This goes back to when people fitted these as an after marker accessory (not factory fitted) and connection could not be verified. So you could disconnect the 3rd brake light at MOT time and have an advisory on the record.
Not sure how UK police would regard them either.

Tony.
