Can't wait to drive it a decent distance. When I bought it after the test drive my friend drove it the 70 miles back home as we went to view in my daily drive Fiesta. First jobs are, fix broken passenger door mirror, find the broken wire to the high level brake light, then repair the broken fuel flap locking pin. The solenoid fires OK, just the plastic pin broken off?

Hi, welcome from me too. My Z3 fuel lock solenoid pin had been sheared off. Easy enough to replace, entails removal of o/s/r wheel arch liner and trim in the boot.

First shower of rain and hardtop leaking like a sieve. Drains in the door seals appeared to be choked, drivers side working after squirting water in with a syringe but passengers side still choked. I also think the hardtop was put back on incorrectly after photos were taken She said lock the levers behind the seats then tighten the windscreen screws, this is the opposite to the instruction in the handbook. Time will tell

Hi,
Just joined the forum having bought my first Z3 at the weekend. I can't tax it yet because the seller retained the V5 until payment cleared and we'd driven 100+ miles to get it. She promised to do it all by post then went and registered me as the new keeper online so I now have an untaxed car in my name sitting in the drive. I will use the Z3 as a "weekend" car replacing a Reliant Scimitar GTE that I'd restored over the winter. Missed open top motoring hence the Z3. Previous ones were Smart Roadster and a Mazda Eunos. I'm sure there will be as much useful information here as I found in previous car forums

In Carnoustie. Trying to fix a water leak from the block next to the Oil Filter. Looks like its the 'O' ring on the connector pipe that's leaking perhaps perished a bit.

Yes I like it, bits of paint to touch up but that's a low priority.

Learning fast! The water leak is the classic expansion bottle seal so parts on order to fix it. The poor car has been "serviced" but in need of TLC as the last two MOT commented on oil leak which has plastered the front of the engine in gunge. Gunked it three times and now I can see that the chaine cover is shiny alloy and not painted black :-(
