Ha, We drove through Masterton en-route from Porangahau to Wellington.
If you used the back roads through pongoroa to get to Masterton you would have fun, but even more fun over the rimutaka mountain road between Featherston and Te Marua

Hi from the South Island and welcome to the forum.

Good to see another Kiwi Z3 on the forum. There's a few of us around here.

In your first post, you mentioned the peeling leather, I take its on the dash? If so, the below link will give you an insight into fixing it.

Regards

Murray
Thanks for the link, yep it’s on the dash, I assumed it would be a cheap fix when I bought the car, I hope it is. The worst bit is on the passenger air bag cover as that may have bodged before, but the drivers console section needs re-gluing as well.

The car came from Chch, you may seen it advertised on trademe, I was very tempted to also go view the 3.0 currently on sale in Chch but saw this one first and did the deal as it has the extra blue leather which the wife liked, and less kms.

I see you have a few Zeds!

They are so much fun that they can easily become an addiction.

Currently have:
- 3.0L very low km's garage queen
- 2.0L daily drive
- 1.9L project car that's now completed and up for sale.

You facelift 2.8 is a very nice car. Very easy to fit cruise control to it.

Be very wary Kiwipom, if you drive that 3.0 you will become an addict, you ask @Mint.:)=))=))
Tony.
Yes, I had a very enjoyable drive in Murray's 3.0 and now ......I have one of my own;)

Like I said, a 3.0 addict. Doesn't take long mate. For me it was KFC at Newark to A1133 roundabout and back and that was it Dave.

The only thing against me viewing the 3.0 was it had 170,000km on it, kiwis tend to view 100,000 km as high from a depreciation perspective (It’s not in my opinion) so my thoughts were it would depreciate like hell if I bought it and significantly added to the km (as I intended to do). It would have cost me the same price as the 2.8 most likely.

I will never know if I made the right decision!

Having said that I was a bit annoyed with seller the day after getting home with the Z and finding out the seller had bodged a coolant weep on the rad top with silicon, this had of course not lasted the drive home.

I hope there are no more bodges like that. From what I’d read on the net the plastic in the cooling system should have been replaced by now (seller did not know if it had or hadn’t) so I had sort of budgeted for doing it soonish anyway, just not SO soon.
