A warm hello to everyone on here. I bought a Z3 2.2i Sport a couple of weeks ago and I've now got ABS and DSC lights on the dash. I've read numerous threads on different forum sites and getting a codereader/scanner seemed to be the obvious thing to do, I've purchased a icarsoft910 but it's only reading the engine data when plugged into the OBD2 port under the dash, does anyone have this experience or similar?
Many thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum. ABS and DSC / ASC lights on is a very common occurrence and it's usually wheel sensors are the culprits.

Hi and welcome from me in Hemel Hertfordshire.
Your 2.2i is now probably at the age where if it's not the wheel sensors after you've changed them it'll be the ABS pump, the solder used when your vehicle was manufactured in the ABS pump has a tendency to breakdow. This happened to me with my 1999 2.8 Z3 and it's not uncommon. The pump from BMW is very expensive but you can send the pump to get resoldered for a fraction of the price. Best to eliminate the wheel sensors first as even with a good scanner it seems to throw the two faults up. If you need the pump tested that can be done also for a small fee, if the pump has to be repaired it gets a lifetime guarantee. If needed try ECU testing Ltd/ ABS pump Repair. Had mine back from these people in a week.
