Well I have gone and done it. I will be picking up a new Z4 on Friday. I decided to protect Rosie (my z3) from the elements and put her in the garage for the winter. Charlie the 2012 z4 2.0 sdrive msport will be the all year round zed.

Great and capable car despite being only a 2l four pot. The ride isn't what you might call supple though. Lots of toys and much nicer to be In when the weather isn't being kind.
Enjoy

That is one reason I'm (sort of) looking forwards to the cooler weather Ian. The heater in my 4 is really good, also the heated seats are far superior to the 3 and they were very good I though. I'm seriously tempted to look for a hard top, I think that would make it complete, but, we don't really get prolonged spells of cold weather any more do we ?

Listening to the radio the other day and it said that some bird had arrived early in the UK. This apparently means a cold winter is coming! My z3 1.9 doesn't have heated seats and has been known to leak in heavy rain.

We have had relatively few really bad days over recent years. Three years ago we had bad spells though. Our problem is really cold nights and early morning road conditions. Country roads get icy and don't get salted. I work at the top of a 100m high hill that is on a steep single track road. I'll be keeping the landy for those days. My Z4 doesn't have heated seats although Gail's much newer one does. Getting winter tyres for that is proving difficult - it's back to 17" non- staggered to get them at a reasonable price.
It snowed in Belgium yesterday. I hope that isn't an indicator of things to come..

There must be an empty drive somewhere close by? Looking good.

Tony.
