Hi & Welcome.

Just wash it in the spring and again in the autumn, drive it in between.

Now seriously I use our local Hand wash guys and they know not to use any chemicals on the car other than the wash suds and not to get to close with the jet lance and to stay the hell away from my roof! If you have a discussion with them and they give a darn they can do a careful job, well I have found one that seems too.

Though I do believe @Andy McDonnell does a 5 day Z3 washing and paint care course for the more conscientious.:D

Hi and welcome from me in Ashby Leicestershire, I wouldn't let any jetwash cowboys near any of my motors, you can get some brilliant wash and wax sprays if the car isn't filthy no need for water just 2 cloths failing that diy gentle jetwash then detail at home:thumbsup:

Hi everyone,

Recently bought a Z3 in Boston Green, with green leather seats and cream dash...love it!

I was going to take it to the local 'Hand Car Wash' but having read some horror stories I'm reluctant.

Washing it by hand is slightly difficult as I live in Central London and I can't always get parked anywhere near my front door.

Is it best to avoid these jet wash places at the petrol station, and just get used to lugging a bucketful of water half way down the street?

Any advice would be great. The car is immaculate so want to be as careful as possible.

Cheers!
