Hi and thanks for the add.

Never owned a BMW of any sort until now, but have just inherited a Z3 from my uncle who passed away in June.
Sad for his departure, but am really looking forward to the new car which is a cracker!

It's the 3.0 litre, 52 plate and has done the grand total of 3,500 miles - no, I've not missed a zero out, he's kept it garaged since 2003 and only done an average of 50 miles per year since then, when the MOT was due
I don' know if this is a good thing or a bad one, and basically I would like some advice on service type etc.

Thanks in advance

Wow Bryn, a 17 year old brand new car! Sorry to hear about the sad circumstances where you came to have the car though..
Welcome to the forum from me near Lincoln. It sounds as though a thorough service would be a good idea and also probably some new fuel too.

Tony.

:welcome:to the forum from West Cumbria. As Tony said and I'd have a good look at all the rubber seals, hoses and bushes for signs of deterioration due to the age. Tyres also. If still the originals they'll be 7 years past there sell-by date. Got any pics :D

Hi Tony, thanks for the kind words and the good advice - never thought about the petrol issue.
Not too far away either, I'm just outside Nottingham

Thanks Mazza, and also to andglym for the advice. It's due for the MOT at the end of this month so we'll see what they pick up.
New tyres were fitted 3 years ago (MOT advisory)

Only 2 problems -I'm 61 and 6' 2", so a shoe horn is required to get in. Will manage the 2nd problem, and as the saying goes - if you haven't grown up by the age of 60, you don't have to !!

Hello and welcome to the forum Bryn. You shouldn't have any problems with being 6'2", there's plenty of seat adjustment on these cars. Looking forward to seeing some photos of your new car

Hi, welcome from Mansfield.

I’m 6’ and I’ve added some seat risers, which tilt the front of the seat up. Gives you a couple more inches to the pedal which helps.
