Hello and

Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey......................FrankieHi , I recently bought a 1998 Z3 , but having never owned a BMW or driven a rear wheel drive it's all new to me. Want to get it looking and handling well.
Hi Shaun anda great place for your answers what model did you buy any pics ? We like pics

I imagine so i thought when i looked at the pic that is was possibly on 19'sI put 18" wheels on and admittedly the wrong profile tyres..45s . Going to change them to 30s , will this stop the slight rubbing of inner arch when in a slight adverse camber ?
They are 8.5 on the front and 9 on the back 225 and 255 rear , put straight onI imagine so i thought when i looked at the pic that is was possibly on 19's
Im on 18's
Wheels are 8.5j and 9.5 j i have 225/40/18 front
And 255/35/18 rear.
The height of the tyre may be causing it an issue as the profile may be causing the rubbing, normally there is room what are the wheels widths and offsets do you know ?
No it's the rear rubbing, could it also be a combination of the springs being old and spongy? Is it the front thats rubbing ? Are the wheels flush to arch ?
Sounds like tyre profile its about 13mm larger over all than stock so its probably your issue
Thanks that's a great helpYou just have too much tyre in the arch i think its about 15mm bigger to the rear .
If its lowered and the dampers are not great it will possibly catch at the rear of the back wheels as the liner kicks out slightly as it gets near the bumper.
Mines was lowered 40mm odd and caught abit on the correct tyres.
The springs shouldn't be causing it unless they are laz. Its more like the dampers arn't damping, alot of zeds are still on their original dampers no leaks but when removed have no rebound at all and this could be making the back end feel alittle loose.
With the tyres being wrong it may be catching more than it would if the dampers where more efficient.
3 bolts remove the rear dampers one at the bottom and two up top It may be worth checking how they are by removing one.
