Hello All,
I own a 2004 Z4.
I am a Newbie to this forum. I found this the forum while searching how to relocate the hydraulic roof pump to the trunk. The forum has been a great resource.
Funny, I haven’t been able to find a Z4 repair manual with detailed soft top removal instruction. Any suggestions?
More to come.
Thank you.

I don't know of any manuals for the E85 models. YouTube is often a very good resource for the type of information you're looking for.
BTW welcome from me near Lincoln.

Tony.

More info on roof motor/pump relocation over on the Z4forum here https://z4-forum.com/forum/index.php
The pump/motor can be removed to the boot without taking the roof off but it is a right pain to do it. There are guys that are experts at relocating it, my go to guy is forum member Number5 based in Bristol who is very reasonable cost wise and he carries spares should they be needed. If you search the forum you will find loads of info on how to do a relocation.
Owners Handbook on this forum for a 2.5 Z4 here to download https://zroadster.org/resources/owners-handbook-2003-2-5i.53/

@colb, nodzed,
Thank you for the information.
FYI - Should have mentioned earlier, I have already successfully moved the pump/motor and replaced with new.
Everything works but I suspect I may have a leak somewhere. I can raise and lower the top a few times but it slows and then stops requiring more fluid to fill the reservoir. I see no fluid under the car and the trunk appears dry.
Does anyone know what are the most common areas to leak?
Diagrams and how best to view the lines. Probably have to remove the top after all.
So glad I found this forum to run things by!
Thanks again

Check the pipes where they connect to the lifting ram, they corrode and develop leaks at the connection.

Hi again. Thanks for the warm welcomes.
When hooking up the hydraulic lines Deirdra roof pump how many washers are there and where are they placed? Any exploded views out there? I haven’t found any.
Thanks

Only drawing I can find is the parts diagram for the entire system on Realoem here
It doesn't drill down to individual pump parts, may be forum member Number5 on here can advise regarding washers?
