Thanks for that post. Interesting. He says he heard about the boat as a wreck in a barn somewhere. Rumours of a boat with a 507 engine. He went looking for it and eventually found the barn. Boat completely in bits but all bits were there so he took it on and built/restored it. Had the engine fully restored and, he says, it sounds great.

I reckon the hardest bits to find would be original side grills. They're rocking horse poop. Engines, on the other hand, easier to to find seeing as how a few more conmon beemers used the v8 of that period.
