Well Tony, I wonder what gearing I would need to get my Z up to the legal limit in say 3.5sec. Looks like it might be the only option left. =))
I have a 462 cu in chev motor should help you with that Roy!! JIM

Not enough room in a Z boot Jim.
okay, it's a zed not a Porsche. How about a 40" wide 9" ford rear end with 35 spline axles and whatever gears you need with the engine. You probably should change the trans, I don't think BMW built your trans to handle that much power. You would have one very unique Zed for sure. JIM

Now your getting too tech for me Jim.
I wish they would have gone ahead with the 80mph speed limit. When they introduced 70mph the vehicle capability to stop at this speed without skidding was virtually non existent but modern day vehicle braking systems plus driver capability has imo now vastly improved, which goes to prove that it's all a money making excercise.

This is not good news... I whizz along the M25 each day to and from work. The 80 speed limit would have been really nice...

Well I better slow down :(

The new cameras are situated at the side of the motorway. They also are on the gantries but the real evil ones are on the side.. Photo attached..

I'm working from our Dartford office from beginning of Feb for a couple of months. I drive up early Monday morning and head home Friday lunchtime. My drive there is A30, A303, M3, M25 anti clockwise. When I come home it's M25, A3, A31, A34, A303, A30. There aren't many active cameras until you get on M25. May be it's the time I'm travelling but in my experience you don't get much opportunity to speed on the M25, mostly I'm doing around 30-40mph if I'm lucky. Are these new cameras near the Dartford crossing?

They have spread around the top of the M25 and are now working away along the bottom too. One thing too, on the M3 the average speed cameras are working very well. I know of two people who have had tickets and one was for an average of 57mph in the 50mph .. Swines !!!!

On a Friday teatime I drive cross country home rather than the M25 and A3... I'm quite Impressed you get to 30mph...

They're also talking of building them into the arnco barriers at the side of the A1 in Lincs. Painted grey, not much chance of spotting them. How they can, laughingly, call these "safety" cameras is beyond me.

Tony.

The Traffic Stazzi do not want roads to be safe.. they want to generate a revenue stream.. I am always amazed how they justify cameras.. Ah yes but there has been x many accidents on this stretch of road. When you look into them, how many were caused by speed ? Ah sorry we don't have that data, it is assumed that lowering the speed will make a safer road. Actually, dealing with idiot drivers will make the roads safer, such as some nutters with flashing lights who come round bends on the wrong side of the road and who go through red lights hoping everybody will stop in time. Hmmmm Sorry if I got annoyed on that one..

Don't know if I would get away with it now but every time I took my cars over to the UK, I had different plates (other cars) and never once got a ticket for speeding, I saw the cameras go off often on the M25 in my rear view mirror......
On the other hand, the Germans send you a photo with the passenger blanked out, probably in case you are being a naughty boy!!
