Hi I've just ordered my sills from BMW this morning, pick up next week 165 per side.

The bolts that fasten them on, I'd like to renew these too, what do I order ?

Thank you if you can help.

Parts 3 and 4 on here https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=CK92-EUR---Z3-BMW-Z3 M&diagId=41_0035 but saying that get a price from the dealer first for the bolts and clips, I bought a load through eBay and Amazon in the past

Note you will have to check if I’ve posted the correct sized clips as there a few for different applications

When I ordered my sills I ordered the bolts from BMW as well, if I remember they sold them in bags of 10 bolts.

I would get the plastic fasteners for the plastic trims inside the doors too as these need to come off, they have a tendency to snap when removed

Got these recently from CotswoldBMW around £15 ex stock. BMWLand discount on order. yes you will need them, they seem one use only

Pleanty of Anti Corrossion before putting all back together.

Cotswold charged me £255.36 for the cills plus the dreaded VAT totalling £306.43 again using BMWLand discount.

I have used stainless steel screws around the wheel arch liners on my Z4 sourced them on ebay also used stainless washers to increase the flange size of the bolt heads also from ebay.
and
When I removed the cover sills on my Z3 I did replace some with BMW screws obtained fom Sophers at Lincoln using the forum discount, would use the stainless ones if I were to do it again.
Oem shows size of the screws as 4.8 x 16

I just purchased a pair of outer sills plus a whole lot of screws clips etc for my M Coupe (they will be same as roadster) cost me £331. Didn't realise that Vertu who took over Cooper's dealerships where only giving half the discount that Coopers used to give. :(

It would help if you were careful when replacing thresholds. After dismantling the thresholds, remove the sharp metal notches and cut off all remaining elements. The inner part of the threshold is processed using a grinding machine, which can completely remove the foci of corrosion and damaged paintwork. Also, processing using a rust converter will not be superfluous. I also replaced the bolts by buying new ones at Scrooz. Otherwise, you risk losing a new part due to old rusty bolts. All actions must be performed as accurately as possible, precisely fitting the part to the mating parts, thereby ensuring the rigidity of the entire structure
