I have found some little cracks developing on the rear window so need to replace that but considering the whole roof now. I just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on the wear marks on the hood, if the hood will keep going for another good few years with not much change or if it's going to deteriorate further. This is the original hood and is nearly 17 years old. What was yours like @badman gee before you changed it?

I suppose it depends on the cost of the window to the cost of it all. I wouldnt spend say £150 on a window if i could get the lot for £385. Do you have the hood up a lot, as if it is down most of the time then its pointless having a new hood to crease . It doesnt look too bad, but if it was me, and it is an M, i would have a new hood .;)

My hood has similar wear marks but they're not worn through and don't leak. I clean and treat mine twice a year and it comes up nice. I will replace it at some stage, just not sure when to be honest.:)

I'll see what offers I can get on numbers. The roof spends its time folded down unless parked or raining hard. It doesn't leak so I'm thinking of maybe keeping it going longer. The alloys need a refurb so perhaps the money would be better spent there :D

Quick update: BAS came back and offered 10% if we ordered 5, I have gone back to them offering more promotion if they can do anything better than that but they haven't replied yet. I'm starting to lean towards the new rear window as the roof does spend all its time down unless it is raining hard enough for me to get wet while driving. It is treated and the water beads nicely on it with no leaks so thinking alloy refurb might be better as the paint is bubbling in a couple of places which is annoying me :)

The hood does effect the overall look of the car condition wise (as does the condition of the wheels).

My car was in good condition apart from wear marks on the old roof (window had a slight crease as well).

The old roof had no holes in it or tears but it wasn't upto the standard I like.

That's one reason why the hardtop was on all the time.

I had the BAS one fitted about 18 months ago.

Brilliant oem quality and fitted at home by a guy with 40 years experience.

The hardtop now gathers dust and the overall condition of the car is now pretty good.
