Hi all

I never new this site was here until I started to have major electrical issues with my pride and joy. It's starts with the airbag light coming on, when that's on the radio clock goes, indicators on dash don't work however they are blinking outside, dash lights stay on after engine stops, power good not working...i can go on. However this morning the wipers didn't work and windows didn't work. Here the good bit....ive just gone out to try it and guess what....everything is working now including roof, but I am just waiting for it to happen again. Anyone got some advise please before I take it to a garage and potentially get ripped off. Thanks all.

Look forward to hearing all the people who have or have had the same issue.

:welcome:to the forum from West Cumbria. My first thoughts would be to get a code reader plugged in to see what's going on, this will help narrow down potential issues.

The roof could be the roof motor sat in a pool of water, poor location, there is a relocation fix done by a member on here.

The rest could just be something simple like the battery goosed, check that first. Where are you located as somebody may be able to help.

Hello Dave welcome to the forum. Yes, as Andy says, first step is to get a code reader on it and see what it throws up. It's a bit early in the day and many guys are at work at the moment but they'll be on later no doubt

Hi Andy

Thanks for reply. I'm based in Northampton. J15 M1 area. The roof is working now but didn't before so coupled with all the other issues I assumed it's all part of the same problem but I do feel a lot more expertise will be on here.

Thanks Jack.
I will probably ask for the best reader to get also. Yes I'm at work also so I will be on here tonight. Thank you

Hi from Mansfield. Can the Z4 suffer from loom problems like the 3? Sounds like a wiring fault to me.

Welcome from Rochdale,

Hi David, this isn't a common issue on a Z4 for sure. My instinct tells me to look first at the battery and connections including testing the battery and Alternator output.

Tony.
