New Old Z3

Hi all Z3'ers,
Really pleased to be able to join this forum. I've recently purchased a 2001 3.0L for my wife to replace her 1997 1.9L and hope to be able to contribute and learn from the forum.
Was surprised this car has a power top, can understand it may be convenient on a larger car, but why pay for this option on a Z3 ?, or was it standard ?.
Pics enclosed, only 55,000 Kms (34,000 miles)
