Gosh. Looks Tasty.

Had a look at some of the other Escorts on there - thats a trip down memory lane ! But the pricing . . . looks a little eye-watering . . .

But glad they are still around and obviously being cherished . . .

Whats the point?
I love old Escorts for the nostalgia and the possible history and same as the reason why i like Z3's is the fact they are not new, not perfect and have their little foibles. If you want a new Ford buy a Focus or better still a very nice second hand M5

3 litre Z3 pretending to be Italian exotica. Two previous E89 Z4s.
Whats the point?
Totally agree. Seems like someone is trying to cash in on the classic car bandwagon.

It's all been done before; E-type jags, Scimitar GTE, MGB (many times), etc

Surely the only reason '70s Escorts are now worth big money, is for their rarity value , as 99.9% were scrapped because they were crap and 'throw away' cars. Also because they are 'nostalgia' cars. Men of a certain age (like me) lust after a mk1 RS2000 when they were kids because they were your dad's car on steroids.

If I win the lottery, one of the first cars I would buy would be a genuine Mk1 RS2000. I know it will be a terrible car but that's not the point.

If I could find (and afford) an original 1972 Toyota Celica RA23, I would sell my house to get it; only because it was our family car when I was 8 and I loved it more than my dog.

I certainly wouldn't buy a "new old car". For me these type of people are missing the point.

These cars are fakes.

If you want to buy a fake, look to China not Wales, they are the masters.
