Hi,

I am a new member. I have two z3. aone is a 2.8 98 model in black and the other one is a 99 model in silver. I could do with some thought on why my fuel guage does not work on the 99z it is not the guage as i have tried another cluster so it is likely to be the sender itself or wiring. Does anyone know whether the sender is repairable or where to purchase a replacement.

Hi and welcome Jim (another one). More likely it's the sender in the tank, I'm not sure if it's removable without dropping the tank or not. If you can access the wire to the sender try earthing the wires, one will make the low fuel light illuminate and one will cause the needle in the gauge to rise to full. If this happens it will be the sender unit.
Your cars look good too Jim as Gart said:ymdevil:. Where are you located by the way?

Tony.

Welcome Jim,

Lucky chap having two and both look in great condition too.

Cheers, Gart
Thanks, Yes I really like them. the wifre drives the silver one daily and the black one is just for weekends. The silver one was purchased in October from Cheshire. It had been stood for three years and has high miles 186k but only one owner from new . Runs really great, no engine issues at all. Black one has only 88k but does not pull as well as the silver one but it looks well.

Regards
Jim
