Hi Folks - My steel grey, 2001 2.5i manual with 67K miles is my second Z3 and fourth BMW convertible. I purchased the car a couple weeks ago from a retired gent. Overall the car is in good condition but in need of TLC. It's fun having a roadster again. Part of the fun of owning a car like this is doing (most of) my own work.
Mechanically, the window lift guides and seat bushings need doing. There's a little bit of front end shake approaching 75 mph that's probably just a lost wheel weight but I'll check the control arms. The rear diff & subframe mounts look good but I may go for new bushings as preventative maintenance. Cosmetically it needs a good detailing as the paint is full of swirl marks. The PO had the passenger mirror fail but did a very sloppy glue job rather than replace it.
I use the car for some commuting but usually ride my Moto Guzzi (see avatar). My wife doesn't ride pillion anymore so this will be our weekend get-away machine.
