Hello everybody.

I bought my Z3 2.8 auto back in August 2010, and really haven't done many miles in it since then. It had 85,000 on then and has 87,500 on now. My DIY skills are basic, and over the last eight years all I've done to her is the oil and filter change a couple of times, fitted Chrome rollover hoops, cleaned and painted the spare wheel carrier and fixed a corroded wing mirror base. My very low mileage in the Z over this time is due to the fact that for most of the time I have been working outside the country.

Am retired now, and hope to devote more time this year to my Z and becoming more active in this forum and the Z community. I signed up to zroadster.org in 2014, and read an excellent article on then on how to do the wing mirror stem refurbishment.
I really should have introduced myself back then .. apologies for not doing so!!

Over the last few days I have returned to the forums here, and read with great interest the project update threads and have become quite hooked! I am in awe at the wealth of knowledge here and the skill set of so many members.

I will be rolling out my Z and doing the seat rail bushes and fitting a new thermostat in the coming weeks. (I've noticed the temperature gauge never moves very far, although she seems to run alright otherwise).
I will post a couple of pictures of my car ( as it was on the day I bought it in August 2010) I thought it was beautiful then, and I still think the same now! I love the curves of the widebody 1998 car.

Hope to meet some of you at meetings later on this year.

Mark

Hi Mark and welcome from me near Lincoln, a very recently retired Z owner albeit a Z4. Enjoy working on your car, take your time and above all ask as many questions as you like, there is nothing that hasn't been done on here. You may have some local members who're able to lend a hand if needed. If you were local to me you would be welcome to visit the ZedShed(Midlands).:)

Tony.

Hello and welcome to the forum from a fellow 2.8 auto owner. I joined a year before I introduced myself but don't know any other 4 year lurkers so you're in a class of your own =))

My ownership has been quite "eventful" to say the least, and just had a replacement engine fitted

Hello and welcome from Surrey, when I retired 4 years ago, I expected my mileage to go down with no 50 mile a day commute but thanks to this forum it seems to have gone up. :welcome:
And rightly so Mike

Many thanks everyone for the welcome messages. Much appreciated. Jack Ratt - you're right, four years (actually five years) is an indecent amount of time to lurk! I feel much better now having 'come out'!
