Hello all,
New member from Mansfield Notts.
I’ve only had the z3 a month bought it on a whim off eBay it seems a decent car for a 1998 it drives pretty well and No leaks so that’s a bonus. Apart from the 3rd brake light in the boot lid.
The paint on the bonnet and boot lid was crazed quite badly i have had them sprayed so they look all good now. Put a new 3rd brake lens as i broke the old one getting it out, new gasket and done the led mod as all the bulb holders were a mess of rust.
There are a few more jobs i would like to do but as i am on a budget they will have to be done as and when, it’s never going to be a concourse winner but hopefully won’t be a complete nail
One job i would like to do is get rid of the cloth seats, has anyone ever had a go at fitting Z4 seats?
There’s a pair on eBay that have been relisted twice.
Cheers
Lee

Hi Lee and welcome from here near Lincoln. You will find Z3 seats are available and would likely be an easier fit than Z4 ones I would think. PM Spurs fan in a coupe ( Andy) he is always breaking a Z. This is a great forum for info and fun too. I know there are some others in your neck of the woods

Cheers, Tony.:)

Welcome Lee,

I think I've seen Z4 seats fitted before, but they are much larger and will need a bit of fettling IF they do fit.

Love to see some pictures when you get chance.

Welcome Lee, rare to see a Z3 with cloth seats as most were supplied with leather. I am sure you can bag a Z3 interior for decent money, not seen a Z4 seats in a Z3 before so not sure if it can be done but I am sure with a little ingenuity it's possible.

It sometimes happens like that though Lee, and so long as you're not in a tearing hurry you will eventually find what you need. Personally I would look out for a Z3 leather interior. Whatever you decide post us some pictures so we can share your experiences and if you have any questions, well that's what we're all about.:beer:beer

Cheers, Tony.

Also from the other side of the pond and north of Frankie's border , in Canada! Welcome! Keep watching ebay, I just bought new green leather seat covers in the UK for £50 plus shipping to Canada. The seller and I had agreed on £100 plus shipping to pull the auction but he let it run out so I was the only bid at £50. Still willing to pay the first price and am happy to do so. They are out there if you're patient!! JIM

Welcome Lee. BMW fitted cloth seats to the 1.9 M44 model as they didn't think it was worth wasting the leather on them.=))

Welcome Lee!:)
Don't listen to Bonzo, some times (e.g. in Provence) I wished to have cloth seats and not leather.....:D

To go along with penis envy, so I've herd.!! But do sheep really know the difference??
How dare you drag my penis into this. I've just had a man to member chat with him and he assures me he is not at all envious of any other peni he has happened to glimpse, and I've been to a few orgies I can tell you! As for the :baa, I, unlike some other posters on this forum (Oldcarman?), who have their own herd, have not been able to catch one yet! To....er....er... to ask them, you understand.

I would humbly wish to apologize on behalf of the OTHER members for dragging personal private body parts into what is supposed to be your welcoming thread. While things could get worse, they're generally not this bad. And to think that today, is my one year anniversary of all this banter (that is not to say that I haven't started some big tea parties myself. (Ask'em about the girl with the American football.)). Frankie.

Oh, bye the way. Want to pick up a Z8 cheap?........

They also didn't want to waste 2.8 badges on some models either, apparently they were embarrassed by the power of the M44.:ymdevil:
