Hello fellow Z3 owners I own a 2000 BMW Z3. I have been enjoying the photos and post on this site. I noticed a photo of a open trunk on a Z3 and there is a blue color device held with bungee straps, mine is missing. What is this? See attached photo for clarity.

Yep, hazard warning triangle. eBay or a local breakers yard will be your best bet. They are the same size as the ones from the E36 3 series. (which are still fairly common, in breakers yards).
