Hi all! Glad to join the community!

This past Sunday I purchased my first BMW, a 2002 Z3 with 70,000 miles on it. To say that I love driving this car is probably an understatement. It's so much fun!

I'd love to hear from you what to expect concerning maintenance and longevity. Also, should I use the dealer for oil changes in repairs or an independent shop? Also, what type of oil?

Thanks,

Tim+

Your Zed (Zee) will easily exceed 200k miles with good servicing, having it carried out at an independent is fine as any mechanic can service and the standard oil recommend in the handbook is fine.

Welcome Timothy!
Loads of do it yourself , here on this forum.
The Zed is a car which allows work on it, without being a qualified mechanic, in most situations.
Don't forget to post some pics of your pride&joy!
...and I like very much how this names sounds together: Mississippi, Memphis, Tennessee...:)
