Looking to install a new head unit with a flip out screen so can have Sat Nav, Bluetooth, iPod etc in one place. Looking at the Pioneer AVH-X7800BT at the moment. Anybody got this installed or have any other recommendations?

Hi Tel, you haven't mentioned which particular Z4 you have. If it's an E85 then you will also need to get a fascia converter to allow you to fit a standard stereo.

I'm not familiar with that particular unit I'm afraid.

Have you had the original head unit out yet Tel to see how much space there is for a new unit. Although the facia size is standard, sometimes these type of units can be quite a bit longer and require more room behind the facia. I hope that makes sense.:)

Good point Tony, I never though of that. I haven't had the old unit out to check, but I'll do some more research on the dimensions of the new head unit

Just a thought, and I don't mean to tell something you may already know, but, do you know how to get the air vent out to remove the radio?

I have, as I've fitted an Aux cable. I can post some pictures which should help if you would like, but it'll be tomorrow night ?:)

A quick update... There should be no issues regarding the depth of the unit and also the Pioneer head unit allows the use of the existing steering wheel controls

Ok, that's good. Did you want the removal pictures?

Tony.
