New Front Brake Discs and Pads Query

Hello everyone,

ECP has a sale until the end of the month and as my Z needs new front discs and pads, I’m looking at them as I write.

What a bewildering amount of different brands there are! See screen saves. I know driving style will play a factor but what else is important when deciding which to buy?

What experience have members of the brands for sale and what are your thoughts on performance, durability, longevity, etc., please?

In order of preference, just from my own experience
1. Brembo
2. Bosch
3. Pagid
4. Ate
5. Eicher

The last one is the one car dealers would buy to put on sales cars. That should tell you everything.

Pagid minimum.
Eicher are get what you pay for brakes.

We use Pagid at work a lot and never really have much bother with them

Totally agree with you Dawn....the choice on spares is overwhelming !!!

I have gone mid range and just bought Brembo discs and pads for mine .....

I bought brembo for the Kobra. But did buy them from the sister site as suggested by @Paul Rice

Slightly cheaper than EC(every day’s a sale)P and quick despatch.

I fitted new Brembo rear discs last year and as Lee says they are well finished. The OEM discs rust badly around the drum but no problem with these.

Yes Mike, I know what you mean about the rust around the drums. Looks rather unsightly.

All you need to do is paint them before you fit them. That's what I did.
