Before i went on our jollies (ended up not so jolly) i bought a Carport, So whilst i have been in quarantine since arriving back in the UK from Spain i set about putting it together.
First step was to mark out the position of the foot plates and make some concrete bases for the post holders to sit on. I needed 6 in total
I dug down around 11" inserted 8" M10 threaded bar and mixed and poured the concrete to then fill the bloody holes i have dug out and inserted the bars so they set in the concrete.
Then i needed to cut the posts down as these came as 2900mm long and i felt they were to high and also cutting them down by around 500mm would strengthen the structure. I have a slanted drive so the legs needed to be cut accordingly to make it level.
I worked out the rear section lengths first as these were the smallest then levelled and cut the remainder of the legs. Once the legs were in place and to correct height i then braced them with the side beams of which i needed assistance from son in law to level up the posts and fix beams in place.
I used the centre leg as my level for the rest of the braces and posts
I managed to get these all sorted yesterday and today i fixed all the roof braces into place.
Should be ready for the roof going on either tomorrow or Monday
