Today I got around to removing the old C.D. player from the boot, and fitting the new 'humpless' carpet.
It makes a huge difference to the boot space.

And after

I am just left with a small piece on the left hand side to fill. I was going to cut the old 'humped' carpet up, but thought it would be a shame to ruin it. Any suggestions people?
Also today, after being enlightened by @ZTec yesterday, I got out the WD40 and got to work on my door mirrors, which haven't moved since I've owned the car. They were so stiff I didn't realise that they folded.
After a couple of good sprays and twists, they are now working as they should. The more they are moved, the more grunge comes out of them, which has obviously built up over the years.

Where did you get your carpet section from? The left hand side (only) is different for humpless and you need to ask for that too.

I got it from the Syntner BMW dealership in Cardiff. The guy in the parts department said there were 2 available in the U.K.
£66 delivered the next day to the dealership. I am going there tomorrow if you want me to ask for you.

I also thought it was a shame to cut up the humped carpet then though what was I saving it for after all theres got to be loads out there which no one wants.

I also used bits of it to line the base of my cup holder

Sorry, I just meant if you had bought it secondhand you could have gone back and asked for it as a freebie.

But thanks anyway.
