Hi, owned a Z3 1.9 20 years ago, had to sell her but have recently purchased a Silver 2.8 Z3. Bit of project so have a long list of things to sort but she runs which is always helpful. Would love some advice on a number of issues but look forward to chatting to the group. Merry Christmas and a happy Z3 2025.....

Q1. lol might aswell start now........Car is currently just blowing cold air, fan is on full and on heat. I felt the top hose coming out of my radiator and thats hot. Needle sits dead centre when at idle, any ideas please, cheers guys and girls

Cooling overhaul possibly advisory.

So new water pump ( impeller failure)
New thermostat with housing ( plastic can crack )
Your current lack of heat could be an airlock or faulty impeller or thermostat but waterpump and thermostat problems usually cause overheating.

How long does it have to run before the temp. needle gets to the centre? Feel the heater hoses going to and from the heater box where they go through the bulkhead Both should be as hot as the top radiator hose, at least.

Hi Welcome, from Wiltshire .
As above, cooling overhaul, speaking from a head gasket going shortly after purchase. The car had fsh but looks like the thermostat hasn’t ever been changed .
