It was a great day out with the bears and Michelle.

Steam trains, museum and great walks.

Worth a visit.

Steam trains don't have conductors, they have guards! I am a volunteer Guard 2 on the Bure Valley Railway, running from Aylsham to Wroxham. We welcome dogs, but BMG would have to travel in the guards van!:D

Yeah, but to be a full guard you have to learn lots of stuff and take exams etc. The regulatory body for inspections and safety on our little narrow gauge railway is exactly the same as for all the standard gauge main line operators, and the guard is in charge of and responsible for the train and safety!

I thought before I volunteered that all a guard did was wave a flag, blow a whistle and watch the scenery go by, but oh no, you are constantly on the go with driver alerts, watching points clearance, checking passing loops and open level crossings and a lot more besides. It's great fun, a day out with the guys and interacting with the able and disabled passengers. My next duty is tomorrow, the 10am from Aylsham.

Excellent stuff, would be good to meet up for a chat some time. I worked on the railway for 26 years and know it very well.

Will pass on your regards Frankie, I do miss you!

I just keep going back to this picture and laughing my ass off. It'll be SOME TIME before BMG will be able to top THIS~!!!! I must have laughed and cried for 20 minutes. And then laughed some more every time I looked at the face on the Locomotive. What an absolute perfect come back!!!!!!!!!!!! I know BMG is going to have to plan something special for this post. It will be very interesting. Frankie in tears.
