Need help (Electrical)

Can anyone tell me what this broken wire does before I reconnect it ? Its under the centre console between gear stick and handbrake (2002 3ltr). I'm guessing I broke it removing the console but not 100% sure if it had been cut for a reason prior to my ownership.

This may or may not be helpful, but when I took off the centre consul in a 2002 Z there was a cable running back which I found powering the little red light that flashes the alarm is on.
The only reason I say this is because I didnt know there was a light there till I found the wire......
But they do look as if they have been cut rather broken when removing item, unless they have pulled cleanly from the little black plug with the same colour cables....DD
