A strange one - I noticed what looked like splash marks down one side of the bonnet the other day. Car had been parked up in garage for a week after washing so don't know when they appeared.Tried taking photos but glare too great to distinguish.
Initial reaction was to wash car but still there.
Tried clay bar but no go - marks appear to be sub surface as can't feel high spots
Tried Meguiars Swirl remover manual pad then DA - no go.
Tried T-cut - manual pad then DA- no go.
Tested a small area with paste compound cutter - some success and can feel some high spots.
Thoughts are it is something in top coat breaking up.
Anybody else had similar or views on what it may be?

So i am not the only one!
titan silver 2001 here, with marks under the clearcoat, can not feel them, could not even understand how they were made, to the point I thought that for some reason the previous owner had put clearcoat over scratches. Had the paint tested with a density meter and it reads even all across the car….
will post pictures tomorrow, these marks are visible only under sunlight and from a certain angle.

Only visible from this angle.
can not feel it, can not see this from any other angle and most of the times not even visible unless you try to find it.
had to try for the phone camera to lock on it.
my guess is that its probably bird sh;t that dried and ate through the clear coat. Very disturbing to know they exist.

The damn fruit bats here do that to your paint, if you leave it there for too long. Bird poo not so bad, but there is something about batsh*t that either stains permanantly or eats paint..

If their poo can burn paint, what is their arse made of? Titanium?
Jokes aside - Looking at the pattern on my car it may well be bird splatter - but I always clean off immediately and can't remember such a concentration in this area.
How the hell do you do to treat it? The paintwork that is - not the birds.

I had a dull patch on part of my bonnet, I guess where it had been parked for a long time in the Aussie sun, After several treatments of perl, it has almost completely dissapeared...
