For now i have decided to keep the rear axle as is....knowing it will need to come out in 6-12 months.
So I ordered front bushes only, and received them today.

I wanted to fully clean the car for some time now.
But with still some nasty rusted parts on it, it didn't make sense.
The front end is all gone now, the exhaust gone, the bodywork not fixed back on since the roll cage got mounted. And the roll cage has been primmed so water will not make it rust.
But it is on axle stands in the garage.....
....water won't kill the garage, so kind of flooded the garage with the pressure washer while getting most of the dust and dirt of the car.

Will start fitting pieces back together (hope the wife will give me some time this weekend).
Will post pictures of the progress.

Regards, Koen

As the front shocks give some issue (see post: https://zroadster.org/threads/bc-racing-went-from-top-to-bottom-on-quality.8853/), so I started on the rear.
And YES, they do go on without issues.

2 things to mention anyway:
1) the setup of the rear shocks might need to be adapted. When connecting them at the top (jacking up the hub so that it all goes up), the car jacket itself up just before the shock was up. The spring was already a little compressing and apparently this already resulted in the car lifting off the axle stands. So I might need to make the shocks longer (as they are adjustable, they are made for that).
2) removing the rear springs. Right hand side came out easy, left hand was a little more difficult. And when putting everything side-by-side it was visible why.
On the picture you can see from left to right: my left spring, my right string, my red H&R set and the BC-Racing spring.

Strange that the springs were not the same, hight & shape were different.

Others, correct that for point 1 I should make the shock longer? (just making sure)

Regarding the original springs Koen, is it possible that the has had an after market replacement spring fitted at some point in it's life. It's something we often come across at work.

Tony.

Hello,

Still needed to post a pictures of the rear suspension.
I hope the front shocks will get sorted quickly too.

This morning, got up and wanted to do something fancy.
So i finished fabricating some brackets and fitted the new dashboard and the datalogger.
The datalogger is on the tunnel, the same space the airbag sensor used to be.
I couldn't think about a better place to fit it as both need to be flat, etc.

The next issue to tackle are the brakelines.
While i put the rear suspension in, i was changing the brakelines with stainless lines.
No problem there, althoughit also means undoing the old lines.
And the old breakpipes received an advisory an their last mot for corrosion.
I have been having a small fight with them yesterday. Then decided to let even more wd40 sooke in.

My question now: has anybody changed the rear brakepipes already (the solid part, not the flexible part)?
Bending and flaring the pipes is not the issue as i have done that in the past on the cobra.
But what about putting them in? With the rear axle in place??

While thinking about this, seats and harnasses should be up next.

Got the wipers and the dash connected up....although the dash is not yet installed (where it needs to be)
Wiring is only temp done...still need to get my dash first so that I can fit the switches directly at the correct place.
But it all works.

Now need to connect the dash to the ECU (via the OBD...as per other post: need to find the wires).
