Ok you clever lot I have a few (ahem) codes. Some advice would be greatly appreciated and sorry its such a long post.

122 Temp Sensor Oil (reads 154.98) Assume this is just a replacement item?

227 Lambda Control Bank 1
228 Lambda Control Bank 2
191 Lambda Probe heating downstream sensor 2
202 Lambda Regulating limit bank 1
203 Lambda regulating limit bank 2
Running the car showed the following using INPA on Lambda Probe
Before Cat bank 1 0
Before Cat bank 2 0
TV probe heating before bank 1 99.31
TV probe after bank 1 99.31
TV probe heating before bank 2 99.31
TV probe after bank 2 99.31
Lambda probe after cat bank 1 0.03
Lambda probe after cat bank 2 0.15
I'm assuming this needs a new sensor and I know 227/228 can be due to an air leak but I have replaced those parts previously as they had split

65 NW-E-Error
I think this is camshaft sensor probably another replacement item?

211 LLFS error at mechanical jammed closed
I think this is the idle control valve and would explain why the car won't idle. Can these be cleaned with success?

242 Burning fail at cylinder 5
240 Burning fail at cylinder 3
243 Burning fail at cylinder 6
239 Burning fail at cylinder 2
On tick over I get the following
C1 0.443
C2 0.631
C3 1.148
C4 0.400
C5 1.362
C6 1.266

Once warmed up and holding it at 2k revs I get
C1 1.811
C2 2.589
C3 1.042
C4 2.772
C5 1.728
C6 3.983

Could this just be simply a change of plugs/leads?

68 Tank ventilation valve
No idea!

I would imagine some of these codes are being thrown up as a result of related issues in other areas but unsure which ones.

I'll leave the the other codes for the DSC for another day lol

Many thanks

Have you cleared ALL the codes and ran the car after repairs carried out to see which, if any, return?

Tony.

I have cleared all the codes and ran the car back up to temp. I also removed all the spark plugs and cleaned them and found 3 had oil on them. Seems like the gasket fitted had a slight weep so repositioned that and all seems ok. Wiggling the wire around on the lambda sensor also seems to have cleared that but cable seems very brittle so will be replacing them.

After running it I have code 68 tank ventilation and 122 temp sensor

Also the car is running on idle at around 600rpm if I go into the adaption tab in INPA and clear throttle valve it will run fine at 900rpm with no missing but EML and DSC lights go on. Clear the codes for those lights and idle goes back to 600 and lumpy. A couple of the cylinders are still failing to see over 1

Tomo I'll take her for a run and then check the codes again and see what it comes up with but I plan on cleaning the idle body, getting a temp sensor ordered as that has obviously failed. The tank ventilation I'm not sure on at the mo.

Took the throttle body out today and the ICV and cleaned them both up. TBF they were not bad. Also had this horrible thought that I may have crossed the oil temp sensor lead and the oil pressure lead when I did the VANOS. Yup rookie error but code 122 now gone and oil temp fine.

Now she starts up fine for about 20 seconds at 900rpm and then hunts and drops down below 500rpm and would stall if you let it but once running and up to temp it holds revs ok but can defo tell its missing on a few cylinders even though the codes no longer come up.

Does anyone know what the values when reading INPA or C110+ should be for the cylinders as I currently have 3 that make around 1.2 and the other 3 between 0.5 & 0.8 when running.

Also now have a temp sensor outlet reading -48 but inlet reading around 60deg when the engine is running.

Still have code 68 Tank Ventilation valve but getting conflicting info as some sites say its the petrol tank (charcoal canister & solenoid) and others saying its the purge valve. Anyone shed some light?

Cheers

Did a compression test today
Cyl 1 200psi
Cyl 2 200psi
Cyl 3 197psi
Cyl 4 192psi
Cyl 5 199psi
Cyl 6 200psi
So well within BMW specs (allows 15psi difference across cylinders) so happy with that and the minimum is 145psi.

Also found that the rad temp sensor is no longer working (reads -48) but when car runs if it is unplugged temp gauge still goes up.

So new purge valve ordered along with new temp sensor and hopefully it will sort out the rough idle as noticed it does get better as the car gets warmer.

What are the 4 fuel trims at hot idle?
I can't actually check at the moment as I have removed various bits I've found issues with
Currently have these on order
Crankcase hose (Tiny split in it)
A hose from induction as old one crumbled away in my hands
New purge valve as solenoid is not working
Rad valve as old one reads -48
Once they are done hoping it should clear a few codes up.
