Does the heat dial turn really easily? It should have some tension/drag. If it is really easy then you may have a broken nub on the back of the dial and the dial is not adjusting the air blend flap.

Another cause could be some air in the radiator system. Bleed the system and see if the heat returns.

Cheers for the quick response, when you bleed the system do you fully remove the screw, does the engine needed to have been running for a while or even running when you bleed it? I take it were looking for air bubbles/hissing noise of air escaping?

Free stuff first, if you have ramps put the car on them and then bleed and bleed again as air locks can be an issue. As stated, the dial may have been disconnected/broken on the rear.

Update: So got in after work and kept the Car and a steady 2000revs for about a minute, let the engine go idle for couple of minutes and then again went to 2000 revs for couple of mins. Hot air now blowing out. Only issue I have is when I go back to under 2000 revs it goes back to blowing out cold air. Is it a case of keeping bleeding/revving and it will constantly blow out hot air eventually? Thanks again for the previous replies

Did you check the heater hoses for temperature?

Sorry no, only checked the hose on top of radiator, I take it the heater box is centre of the rear of engine bay going into the dashboard

One goes in and one comes out of the heater matrix. It sounds like there is air in the system, as mentioned, or possibly the heater matrix could do with flushing out.

Cheers Tony, I will check those hoses, will the reving the engine for a period of time cure the air issue or do I need to do something else?

You have an air blockage in the radiator system. Bleed the system to get the air out.

Jacking up the front of the car whist bleeding will help. Make sure the handbrake is on and rear wheels are chocked too.
