Afternoon everyone

Well ..... what can I say?
My first proper drive since I bought my 02 Z3 (I had a test drive before I bought it ...but that’s different)

I got waved at by 2 Zed drivers (OK Z4... but it still counts)
Thought a few times .... what the hell is that noise? It was another car nearby, making a racket !!
Didn’t realise my head would take such a buffering with the roof down, but kinda liked it !

Ok it needs quite a bit of fettling and TLC but overall for 120,000 miles ... I’m rather pleased !
Wondering if I should go out again this time with the roof on !!

Quick question ... what is the measurement from floor to wing edge ? (Front and rear). I’m certain mine sits a little low (which isn’t a bad thing)
Thanks again 👍

:welcome: to the forum from West Cumbria. Have you got your seat at its lowest setting and do you have a rear wind break?

At 6’ 4” I have no choice .... the seat is lowest and furthest back possible .... I look like Jaws from Bond driving it !!
No wind break at present.... is it recommended ?

They do make a difference, certainly when pressing on.

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland :welcome:.

Wind break makes a huge difference stops the wind blast coming in between the 2 seats.
Some zed owners myself included (6'3") have a seat lift kit fitted to the front of the seat to lift front up a bit and angle the base back a bit certainly helps if you are tall.

Seat lift kit ??
I think a seat lowering kit would be more apt ??

Is it basically a spacer lifting the front of the seat up ???

I am considering a wind break ... let’s get the MOT sorted first and see if I have any money left !!!

Yes spacer kit to lift front up a bit gives better support to under your legs.

Wind break worth every penny

Type depends on if you do or don't have roll bars fitted as a non roll bar wind break won't fit a zed with bars and vice versa

Re your other question.
I have 2 zeds a pre face-lift 1.9 on 16 inch wheels and a face-lift 1.9 on 17 inch staggered wheels both on standard suspension.
Just went out and measured both
The heights of both cars are all but identical.
So ground to bottom of wheel arch
660mm front
670mm rear.

Ashtray bulb dealer only at around £10.

If you have roll bars you can go for the oe standard mesh windbreaker
Or you can fit a perspex one similar to the one that i have

Out of interest, I have just measured mine, spot on 660mm all round.

Have you looked at the springs at any point since you bought your zed.
