My Dad's forgotten he had a car in the garage!

28 years ago my Dad bought an old car, it wasn't in bad condition, just needed a bit of "Tinkering" around with... He got distracted.

28 years later he brings it out the garage. Mice in the wiring loom.. Cobwebs, dust... And with a bit of help from a local mechanic it spluttered back to life and an "honest" car finally got the tinkering it deserved.!

Definitely life in the old girl yet!

Apparently these sports touring saloons were a very classy motor in their day... Cost as much as a house in monetary terms. They originally called this model the "continental" but another posh car company were slightly ahead of them.

Yes, amazingly just a bit of surface rust here and there, adds to its character. Aged very gracefully.

Looks lovely is it going to be fully restored to showcase or just be enjoyed as it is? I hate to think what the price tag would be I hope you get to use it and maybe bring to a meet next year.

Well I think it needs a "sympathetic" restoration. I think it's widely believed in vintage / classic car circles that the bits of rust and imperfections are thought of as a mark of an "honest" car... A bit like the lines on an old person's face, they sometimes tell a story of their own ...the interior needs some work definitely.. New carpeting for a start.. The leather is now a bit crunchy too.

If it was my car I would never have left it all this time and I would certainly love to run it to some rallies... Be interesting to see what his plans are.​

Let the car shows its age , but take care of the maintenance.
Leather can be easily rennewed, with the fabulous products available on the market.

Right up your alley Dan, would look great parked beside your car for sure!! Looks a lot like the 33 Plymouth I once owned and swapped for my carpet cleaning business!! Made a lot more with the business but sure missed the car! JIM
