Iv had three mk1 mx5s,one a eunos, one a Berkely special edition, and the ultimate the mx5 se mk1,the pop up headlights being a great finishing touch. It has earned classic status, the mk2 and 3 mx5s i didnt like. The mk1 z4 i think as well will go down as a classic. The one called i think the s drive is also a fine looking car.The latest z4s are too tech laden, and have lost their basic charm,in my opinion.Interested to know if you had other two seaters?

Hi d r yes remember the times when cars rusted as you looked at them.I had a very early triumph spitfire, always liked the shape.I think it was designed by an italian.I must goggle a spartan kit car.Seen a mgb the other day after not seeing one for many years.

Hi I still own a eunos mk1 1.6 S LTD black with red leather interior. I have owned it about 6 yrs now and it’s locked up in my mums garage. Great condition but Smokey engine which is unusual for a 5 it’s usually the other way around.

Your Eunos sounds lovely with the red leather.Does it have the wood steering wheel? The euno i had was black with the tan leather, wood steering wheel, and the wood gear nob, perfect for a roadster. The mk1 mx5s are the best of the bunch including the eunos. They where so basic, and focused, and cars have lost that now with all the gadgets on them.Hope you sort out the smokey engine!

My Euros was the so-called British Racing green and tan leather high back (with speakers) seats. Also the wood rimmed Nardi wheel, gear knob and parking brake handle. I changed the wheel for a 13” alloy and leather deep dished one.

I dug out a few pictures of my old Eunos, a 1990 car. I bought it from Bedford, off eBay and drove it home on T plates. It was on BBS alloys which were grotty.

So I bought some original MX5 wheels.

Took a bit of spit and polish to make it look half presentable.

I added several bits and pieces, some "show" hoops, and a boot spoiler and a hard top.

The top was red. It's now on 16" Wolfies.

Smaller steering wheel and double Din head unit.

The chrome button on the side of the console was for my home made boot popper.
During the repairs to the dissolved O/S floor/ Sill. I bought a new sill/door step panel from Mazda Specialists.

Then this came along,

and the Mazda ended up out here.

I did enjoy that little car.
