We are away in the caravan next weekend so will be using the Jag tow car. Today we took the grand- daughter out for the day so needed 3 seats so out with the Jaguar. Nearly at our destination when the engine management light came on with the reduced power message across the screen. No big deal normally because it was still driveable and got us there and home again but I now have to hope I can get it fixed before the weekend. If not we lose the deposit on the campsite and have to fork out for a hotel on top. Fingers crossed it's not a turbo or I may be selling a kidney!

I am pretty sure it is something on the intake side of things as when the revs drop I can hear a sound like the boy racers make when the dump valve blows off. It's an XF 3.0 litre diesel which can be prone to turbo problems so I will hope for the best and plan for the worst.lol

Maybe something as simple (but expensive as) a boost pipe split. Good luck with it mate.

Thanks. A split pipe is exactly what I am hoping for and a knackered turbo is worst case.

I changed an EGR valve on daughters Insignia last April, only for it to make no difference, then found the boost pipe split. Cost? the same! Sent the EGR back, thankfully.
