I know it's sad and all, but I think my Zed has seen the light of day for the last time until next spring now.

As this will be the first winter I've had the car can anyone offer any tips (for engine, battery and tyres, etc) that will ensure when she emerges in warmer drier conditions everything's as it should be?

Also (UK owners who don't plan to use their cars over the winter) do you still maintain the road tax your cars or S.O.R.N them for the winter period. If you S.O.R.N them it is a messy procedure to re-tax?

I take it you still do/have to insure for that period too?

Sorning on line is a doddle Col. It pays to have fire and theft cover for in the garage, personally I dont.

Cheers Tony. What about when the time comes to tax again can that be done on-line and do you need a 'reference to tax' number like the one that comes on the reminder forms?

Hey mate, yes they send you a reminder to re-sorn or apply for tax which has the reference number on it. If you want to re-tax before the sorn expires you can do it using the "log book" reference number. It's all on line and easy.

You will need trickle charger, moth balls, mouse traps and silica crystals, and one of those big vacuum sealing bags would also be beneficial......

Oh that sounds too much like hard work - Think I'll leave it in the river :thankyou:

Cheers Tony, sounds like that's the way I'll do it.

Best person to ask would be Mark BMG ;)
He knows all about Sorning =))

Someone should write an article on this for the knowledge base as it gets asked often. :)
