After yesterday's mini-panic over rear fog lights it was MoT day today. The car was nice and warm when I dropped it off and a 45 minute wait ensued.

Took a walk to to distract me while it was being done - and got well distracted.

The air ambulance flew over landed over some roof-tops near-by. It appeared to be landing directly on the playing field of the infant school where I'm a school governor. The car took a back seat while I tried to find out was happening - a major accident in the first week of term didn't sound a great story.

The school wasn't answering the phones... worry increased...
Took a few minutes and several more phone calls while I was headed towards the school - just be fore I got there but got through to find out they were attending a road accident. Not good for whoever was involved but all the 300 children and staff were ok.

So, back to the car.

The tester came out smiling and complimented the car. No failures. No advisories. A 10 minute chat ensued. Just a comment that the near-side hand-brake wasn't quite as efficient as it should be or could be. I'll take that. All legal for another 12 months. :coolsteer)

Good news about the car, another 12 months motoring :coolsteer)

Glad to also hear that the air ambulance wasn't there for the school, but unfortunate about the RTA.

Nothing in the local news about the accident so hopefully not to bad. Has been a fatal in town and a police chase that ended with a three car accident including two cars overturned. Thats enough for one small town for a day.

Good news Ian, 12month ticket:thumbsup:

Indeed. Just got vanos solenoids to fix.
All easy stuff really compared to other daily life challenges.

Good to hear you got a Cert. Ian. Very common to find the parking brakes were a bit out. You add both readings and divide the weight of the car by the total, looking for minimum of 16% for 2 stage master cylinder equipped cars.

Tony.

It was 28% whatever that means - might be lower than the offside but sounds good to me.
Anyways - I get to drive to work in it again tomorrow rather than have it sat out front. Yay!
The FL is sorted with new discs, pads and tyres all round. Don't need that all at once very often. Ready for snow now

that explains a lot.....
I wondered why mine passed at about 25%. I thought that meant it was only 25% of it's capability
