4 years £5.1k thrown at her and still refuses to play ball with me!:D

My auto gearbox has always changed from 3rd - 2nd and 2nd to 1st in a harsh manner
Changed the fluids and the filter and put some anti shudder in it and still had the problem

Reading about MAF affecting the transmissions I decided to unplug it and found the gearbox still does it but a lot less harsh. Almost tolerable but noticeable.
Also found I have a leaking manifold today (would be was meant to have an MOT) but wondered if I might have a MAF that's on the way out and the gases leaking from the exhaust might throw something out so the gearbox changes down more erratically?

Just checked the car with a scanner and have all manner of codes thrown up
08 AMF (never noticed this before and wondered if it was when I unplugged it however when cleared it came back) I will replace this
44 Tank ventilation solenoid Valve (when cleared this comes back on straight away)
4F Oxygen sensor behind Cat 1 (Stayed off once cleared and taken for a drive)
3D Oxygen sensor behind Cat 2 (As above)
41 signal Inlet Camshaft sensor
92 CAN Torque Interface
I'm thinking 41 & 92 could be related so looking to change out the camshaft sensor

So now looking at replacing the manifold and the exhaust system fixing the codes and reviewing the gearbox but anyone else had these sort of issues? 2000 Z3 3.0 auto

So changed the MAF and the sensors and the car runs like a dream, no harsh gear changes and can not believe it was the MAF along! Never showed up as a fault before but must have been on the way out. What a difference. Now up for sale as after 4 years time to move on.

Mafs don't always set codes in my experience, chased poor running on mine for ages until I finally replaced the Maf with a oem one from BMW. Always replace Maf and other sensors with Oem brands Bosch or Seimens although I have had success with Hass camshaft sensors which come in cheaper than the others

Bought them all from BMW which were surprisingly cheaper than pattern parts!
