Just lifted this off a Z4 group on Facebook which for me reinforces my personal view that the Z3 is the best looking option.

Can't believe how large the Z8 looks - do we think the images are proportional?

Deffo proportional, I'd have a Z8 mind. Just the £200k short of the asking price. I think there's room in the market to bring back a modern Z3 with minimal kit and a small CC turbo engine.

Here's a couple only just got her back on the road after 3 years sitting so needed some TLC. She's getting it now finally

I agree with you on most of that Andy but a Sports car should always have a reasonably sized normally aspirated engine, preferably a straight six.

I agree Mike but I just couldn't see BMW sticking a 6 in a new model today, more likely a 1.6 200 BHP turbo.

Must agree with you chaps regarding the z series cars. For many of us it was the Mazda MX5 which gave us the opportunity to relive our youth with a little sportscar reminiscent of the British sixties sportscars. This and the MGF, MR2 and Z3. Whereas Mazda have gone back to that concept with the current MX5, BMW have gone the opposite way, moving towards the bigger Jag , Merc models. Personally I don't care for the new Z4,too big,but it depends what you want. If I was going to buy a new sportscar just for some 'fun' summer driving it would probably be the MX5 or Fiat Spider.

'Too much electrical ...' , tell me about it! New cars drive me up the wall. Too much information on new dash/controls etc. Very distracting in my opinion.

And don't get me started on bloody telephones ................:mad::mad:
