Hello everyone,

I have now setup a donations site using Virgin Money to allow anyone on this site to donate to the Motor Neurones Disease Association. This account will allow donations through to the end of next year and has an optomistic target of £1500!

Feel free to use this for any fund raisers/events you have planned amongst yourselves.

Please remember to request Gift Aid if you qualify so that the charity receives as much money as possible.

http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/ZRoadster.org

Donations are entirely voluntary, and you do not need to contribute if you don't want. You won't get kicked off the site for not doing so!

If you do, please enter your forum name in the against the donation so I can give you a special board rank (shown underneath your user ID on all posts).

Using this site sends your donation directly through to the charity - THIS FORUM WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY DONATIONS DIRECTLY!

Just found this on the http://www.mndassociation.org website.

£15 buys an adapted cutlery set to help somebody continue to feed themselves
£25 provides the MND Connect support and information line for an hour
£50 funds laboratory equipment for a day's research
£100 provides 10 newly diagnosed people with vital information packs
£150 funds an MND expert researcher for a full day
£200 provides respite care for a day
£250 buys specialist PC equipment to enable somebody to continue working
£500 funds the installation of a stair lift

So you can see what impact your support can make to someones life!

Gary, I don't think your target is set too high ;-)

I've given you all a challenge, I don't want to be the biggest donator so make damn sure some of those events blow me out the water :-bd

Guess we've got just short of 13 months to pass you.
Should be easy if we do it while your///M is still hibernating :))

This sounds like a great idea! I have a charity bike ride I'm doing next year coast to coast so I'll happily donate half the money I raise to MND and the other half to the air ambulance hth! Daz

with my donation bringing the total to a round £550 (or £687.50 with gift aid) the forum has bought:

46 sets of adapted cutlery
27.5 hours of support from the MND connect and support line
2 weeks of MND research lab equiptment
68 information packs for MND sufferers
4 MND expert researchers for a day
3 days of respite care
2 sets of specialist PC equiptment
1 stairlift

not in total, but for individual items. Not bad for barely a week of donations. Keep them coming!

Dan,

That is a great way of showing how your donations can make a huge difference to just one persons life, or even lots of peoples lives! B-)

Well done everyone!

Sorry it's taken a while to donate, I've been in Germany for the past week or so, but done now.

I really cant believe how far this site has come in such a short period. I was Gob Smacked when I logged in.

A big WELL DONE to all, hopefully the charity will do really well as a result of all your hard work, its a great cause and one that we should all be proud to support as a community ^:)^

The reality of MND.. I have been lucky enough to meet the family in the first video, Charlotte is also a volunteer for the MNDA visiting MND sufferers supporting them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGQjbtmE7-k

This one is the banned MNDA advert, the lady at the end is Sarah a real MND sufferer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz6F955t ... re=related

SOME MAY FIND THESE CLIPS DISTURBING
Most young people are cocooned from seeing these videos
if they could be made aware what could lie ahead for them
Their support in helping and funding would be life changing

Kevan you are an incredible person
