As reported on the BBC website

http://www.bbc.com/news/business-36089558

"The issue affected models including Mitsubishi's ek Wagon and eK Space, as well as Nissan's Dayz and Dayz Roox. All are "mini-cars" with 660cc petrol engines and are popular in Japan but have found little success in other markets."

I can't think why they wouldn't be popular elsewhere.....can you?

I honestly can't imagine any large car company being dishonest enough to be fiddling figures to make their cars look better than they are...

/sarcasm

Also, that car looks like Postman Pats van.

I read somewhere that the "manufacturers" produced their emissions and mpg figures from tests conducted under laboratory conditions.
It's little wonder that they can't live up to them

Vauxhall Insignia has been established as the worst offender of the 37 makes tested in the UK. Citroën C4 being the "best" worst performer only being 4 times over the limit.

I had an Audi A1 Tdi a couple of years ago.

The brochure said 78mpg possible.

It did just over 50mpg in the 10 months we had it, although some short journeys in there.

But one day, on a long trip, I decided to drive steady and see if I could get any where near the claimed 78mpg.

A shade over 60mpg was the best I could get.

I really think these tests need to be undertaken in real driving conditions, not produced in a laboratory, after all real people drive the cars. The people that buy them should be confident that the figures the car manufacturers quote can reasonablely be obtained.
