mirror glass relpacement...ebay...

Hi, just putting the feelers out has anyone bought a replacement mirror glass from ebay or anywhere else other than genuine bmw.. are they any good...?

I recently broke mine while taking the mirror off for repair and painting...

i seen a few other cars with replacements and they dont look very good quality, its for the passenger side so not as important as drivers side but just wondering if anyone has bought one recently and could give me a link.. i see some are stick on top of original and some have the original mounting clips...

If you just broke the glass and not the clips/plastic backing plate, your best bet is to order a replacement glass from eBay, carefully remove the broken glass from the OEM backing plate and afix the new glass with a decent adhesive. Any other non-OEM solution will be a waste of your time and/or money IMHO.

done that today with the ebay glass i just ordered peeled off the old glass cleaned up the backing plate with turps, and stuck the new one on worked a treat. total cost £3.89
