Passenger side. I think it's just stuck through lack of use. It's actually in the right place so I just never moved it. But I have the mirror apart for painting so now is the time to fix it.

Motor tries to go but just clicks over the cogs and mirror doesn't move.

Anyone ever stripped this bit down to loosen it up?

Thanks

Oh. Hang on. Stripping down any further may not be necessary.

There's a kind of rubber grommet around the outside. In my case it had come loose and worked it's way into the gibbins jamming it up.

Managed to work the grommet out and put it back where it belongs and the parts appear to move now.

Just need to connect it back up and see if it works. Dark outside now. I'll connect it up in the morning and report back.

Just wanted to come back and report on the mirror.

The picture in my first post. That's not mine. I scraped that off the interweb. Somebody selling it.

But look at the white ring. Around the outside of that is the rubber grommet I'm talking about. Look at the upper right quarter. You see that the grommet has slipped back a bit. It's almost completely off the white ring and just about to get dragged under the white ring and seize up the whole thing.

That's what had happened to mine. Rubber had got dragged right inside.

Pulled the grommet out from under the white ring. Put the mirror back together and now works perfectly.
