We've just had a fabulous weekend hosting @andyglym at Mint Towers with two full days of top down driving out in the Peak District.
On Saturday we were joined by @Jjim with his M3 at our first brekky stop. His V8 has a great soundtrack, I didn't need to look to see if he was still following, I could hear him.
We went up to the Oil Can Cafe @ The Carding Shed, Holmfirth for lunch. A great place to mooch around too, looking at the old motors. Home via Ashbourne and a total of 175 miles in the bag.
On Sunday @Bozzy and Amy came over to meet us at Mint Towers for a drive more around the South of the Peaks. We stopped for lunch at The Peak View Tea Rooms and then travelled on some of my favourite roads to eventually end up at Hope for coffee and cake. This is where we said our goodbyes to Andy who then still had a 170 mile trip home up to Cumbria. Steve & I then pootled back down to finish the run at Thorpe, just North of Ashbourne and we finally got home @ 19:30 with another 162 miles done.
An absolutely superb weekend with great friends, great roads and great weather. Thanks must go to Andy, James, Steve & Amy for joining us, we had a great time.
Note to self...don't eat so much cake on the next tour.
A few pics from me, I'm sure some more will be added...
At Mint Towers ready to go
Monsal Head
Holme Moss Car Park
Final Pit Stop
Weaver Hill
Lay-by behind Mam Tor
Defensive parking at its best, my Zed protected by her friends.
Again, a great weekend but very tired now. Thanks All.
