Minor surgery.

On my way home from work on Christmas Eve I was going up the straight mile near home (Shed regulars will know where I mean) following a car at reasonable speed when all of a sudden from between it's rear wheels there appeared a carcass of some sort, brown it was, and fairly large. It removed my front splitter from the bumper in the centre.

So I've been reattaching it with some slightly larger washers. Here it is looking better.

It is Paul. Courtesy of the X-trail tow bar incident.. It's on my to do list when I get the bits required to replace the bent bits.

You got it repaired quick smart though mate, all fine and dandy again.

Good that the splitter rivets let go before the bumper was damaged, wouldn't fix it on too firmly!

It just tore through the rubber leaving the screws and washers behind Ian. It came with a double sided adhesive strip but I added some stainless self tappers and washers.

I can second that one ---- I hit a Badger 03.00hrs one morning with the 335 put a right dent in the front n/s corner , and it then dashed away.

Me too Andy, I would love a carbon splitter but even on standard suspension and stock wheels it wouldn't be viable on our roads even without speed humps.. That's why I went with soft rubber ones.

Hit an already dead pheasant Xmas eve, couldn't avoid it, made a lot of noise underneath and a load of feathers flew out but fortunately no damage, good job you've got a bit of spare time now Tony for some repairs

I hit a badger when I was on my motorbike, Kwacker ZZR1100 on 10th May 2004, remember it well, it was Jill's 40th birthday. Wrote off my bike and I was airlifted to hospital in air ambulance helicopter. I broke 3 ribs, right where my ribs joined my spine. It f****'in hurt. Two months off work too. Tough little buggers them badgers

A guy was passing my wife's car on her way to work at the Borgatta. He cut back in front of her and hit her front bumper pulling it away from the frame that held it. When she came home after work I looked at the plastic bumper holding the driver's side end with my hand. I pulled it away from the car about an inch to see behind it and it fell off into my hand. I can't understand how it stayed on at all. I had to re-attach it with screws and washers. Not too worried about the easy fix as the car, a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo is now 20 years old.....Frankie

This was the offending object. The thing was the driver in front saw it in time pass between it and the edge of the road, not me though !

One of my neighbours down in Folkestone was riding his Z250 to work one evening when a rabbit dived into his front wheel. Wheel stopped, bike kept rotating around it. Don't know how I kept a straight face whilst commiserating.
